General Instructions:
Shipments must be consolidated on one bill of lading via the same mode on any one day to the same consignee.

Freight Classification - Classify material in accordance with the National Motor Freight Classification.  Shipments should be released to a value which will result in the lowest transportation rate.  Do not insure or declare excess value.

Show Electric Boat Corporation purchase order number(s) on bill of lading or air bill and all shipping containers.  Instruct freight carriers to identify the same purchase order number on their delivery receipt.

Transportation Cost - When Electric Boat Purchase Order Terms states that EBC must pay freight charges, forward the shipment on a "Freight Collect" basis in lieu of prepaying and invoicing EBC the freight costs. 

Electric Boat Corporation's Traffic Department should be contacted for specific routing instructions on all shipments consigned to other than Electric Boat destinations.

Collect on delivery (COD) shipments are not authorized and will be refused.

Shipments of hazardous materials must be packed and shipped in accordance with applicable Government/carrier regulations.

Electric Boat's Traffic Department is to be notified immediately of any difficulties experienced with designated carriers at 860-433-5935 / 3090.
