Unencrypted e-mail is not an acceptable method for transmitting technical data to General Dynamics Electric Boat Corporation. This includes information in the form of blueprints, drawings, photographs, plans, instructions, and documentation.

Per U.S. State Department Policy, any unencrypted transmission of technical data controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 22 CFR 120.10, over the internet is tantamount to placing that data in the public domain and is, therefore, a violation of the ITAR.  The internet is considered to be the public domain. Technical data, as defined in the ITAR, is not releasable to the public domain.
