General Dynamics Awarded $31 million for Trident Submarine Support Services GROTON, Conn. (September 04, 2010) – The U.S. Navy this week awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a $31 million contract to plan and perform maintenance and modernization work on U.S. Trident-Class and U.K. Vanguard-Class submarines. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). Under the contract from the Navy's Strategic Systems Program, Electric Boat will perform shipboard integration of the fire control system; provide support to the TRIDENT I and TRIDENT II submarine-launched ballistic missile programs; and provide strategic weapon systems technical engineering support. (August 18, 2009) - The U.S Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a $42.1 million contract to plan and perform routine maintenance and modernization work on USS Springfield (SSN-761), a Los Angeles-class attack submarine. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). Under the contract, Electric Boat will plan for and perform a Dry-docking Selected Restricted Availability, which consists of engineering, procurement, repairs, maintenance, modernization and testing. The work will take place at Electric Boat’s shipyard in Groton; it is expected to be completed by February 2010. General Dynamics Receives $65 Million for USS Hartford Repair Work GROTON, Conn. (August 6, 2009) - The U.S Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a $65.2 million contract to perform repair work on USS Hartford (SSN-768), a Los Angeles-class submarine damaged in a collision March 20. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). Under the contract, Electric Boat will install a hull patch, bridge-access trunk, port retractable bow plane and the sail, which were fabricated under a previously awarded contract. General Dynamics Awarded $16 Million by U.S. Navy for USS Hartford Repair Work GROTON, Conn. (May 21, 2009) – The U.S Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a $15.8 million contract to plan and perform repair work on USS Hartford (SSN-768), a Los Angeles-class attack submarine damaged March 20, 2009, in a collision with the Navy amphibious ship, USS New Orleans, in the Strait of Hormuz. Under the terms of the contract, Electric Boat will perform planning work, material procurement and fabrication of a hull patch and a bridge access trunk, as well as planning and material procurement for the port retractable bow plane. Electric Boat also will perform planning work on the sail to restore USS Hartford to full-service condition. Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31. (January 15, 2009) – The U.S. Navy has awarded Electric Boat a $34.9 million contract to perform routine maintenance and modernization work on the USS Providence (SSN-719), a Los Angeles-class attack submarine. Electric Boat is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). Under the terms of the contract, Electric Boat will perform a Selected Restricted Availability, which consists of repairs, maintenance work, alterations and several major systems upgrades. The work will take place at the Electric Boat shipyard in Groton and involve up to 300 employees at its peak. The work is expected to be completed by September 2009.
