Apprentice Programs at Electric Boat

The apprentice program is meant to be a long term investment in valuable human resources, designed to supply a well trained work force. The combination of on-the-job training and related instruction offered through apprenticeship has proven a reliable teaching and learning model.

The apprentice program trains an employee in one of the many skilled trade disciplines in the company in either a shipyard trade or a design discipline.

Apprenticeships are 5 years in length. Work hours for apprentices are the same as their normal work day. Class work also occurs during the work day.
