Electric Boat Employee Run Recreational Organizations

General Dynamics Electric Boat offers several extracurricular activities that are subsidized by the company.

The Electric Boat Athletic Club (EBAC) offers a wide variety of athletic and hobbyist activities including floor hockey, skiing, basketball, volleyball, gardening and travel. Discounts for local and national attractions are available through the club.

Electric Boat also has a fitness center on site that is open 24 hours each day and is staffed by licensed trainers. Several classes are offered by the fitness center including aerobics and yoga. Fitness assessments are one of the services provided by the trainers, as well as structured programs to help individuals lose weight, stay fit and live healthy lives.

The Electric Boat Management Association (EBMA) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting the management development of its members. The EBMA offers courses in Certified Management and special seminars and workshops to fulfill this aim. Additionally, the EBMA offers monthly Dinner Meetings with interesting speakers from within and outside the company. These meetings also provide members an opportunity to network with upper management and their peers. The EBMA also organizes a summer outing for its members and their families, holiday adult and children's parties, and annually awards $14500 in scholarships to members’ dependents.

The employees of Electric Boat are entitled to discounts with services such as Verizon Wireless, national attractions like Kennedy Space Center and Universal Orlando, and local attractions such as the Mystic Aquarium, Six Flags New England and the Roger Williams Park Zoo.
