Working in Piping Design

Piping designers are tasked with the challenge of complicated piping design, which often include the routing of pipe through congested areas, and the proper location of valves, fittings, and hangers. Piping design for nuclear submarines requires strict adherance to design specifications for nuclear and non nuclear systems.

Draftspersons working in piping design work on high pressure air systems, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitation, refrigeration, and other instrumentation and control systems involving maneuvering, auxiliary diesel and steam equipment for the submarine power plant.
