Design Apprentice Program at Electric Boat

The apprentice program is meant to be a long term investment in valuable human resources, designed to supply a well trained work force. The combination of on the job training and related instruction offered through apprenticeship has proven a reliable teaching and learning model.

The apprentice program trains a draftsman in one of the following disciplines – Electrical, Arrangement, Piping, Mechanical, Ventilation, or Structural. Apprenticeships are 5 years in length.

Work hours for apprentices are the same as their normal work day. Class work also occurs during the work day.
