Family Day

Electric Boat’s Centennial Family Day - set for Saturday (07/17/99) between 9 AM and 4 PM - is fast approaching.  The latest attraction added to the event is the SSN-688 class submarine, USS Annapolis (SSN-760), which will tie up in Graving Dock 3 and be open for tours.  The tours will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis; the cutoff time to line up will be 3:30 PM.

In addition, there will be exhibits and demonstrations in several locations, including Buildings 4, 88, 197 and 221.  Handouts with more detailed information will be distributed at the gates on Saturday.

If you plan on arriving in the morning, you can start your day with assorted muffins, breakfast burritos, juice and coffee.  The menu later in the day will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, ice cream, soda and more.

Please be sure to wear your badge - it will be your “admission ticket” for you and your family.  All attendees must be U. S. citizens.  During the event, you’ll be expected to act as your family’s escort.  As always, cameras and recording equipment are prohibited.

All parking lots will be open.  Guests with special transportation needs (e.g., handicapped or elderly) should call Security at 433-5530/5531 to make arrangements.

The rain date is Sunday from noon to 4 PM; announcements will be made on local radio stations.
